Nayyi Navelli Box Office: Yami Gautam's ₹11.65 Cr Weekend
Nayyi Navelli, with Yami Gautam, made about ₹11.65 crore net in its first weekend per Sacnilk. Koimoi, Pinkvilla and others differ slightly. Figures compared.

Nayyi Navelli, the horror comedy led by Yami Gautam Dhar, opened in cinemas on October 16, 2026 and closed its first weekend with about ₹11.65 crore net in India, according to Sacnilk. Koimoi, Pinkvilla and Hindustan Times give slightly different numbers, and every figure below is a trade estimate rather than an audited collection. Here is how the trackers compare, and what the first weekend does and does not tell us.
The weekend, day by day
Sacnilk's day-wise table puts the opening day, Friday, October 16, at ₹3.25 crore net from 6,281 shows at 11 per cent occupancy. Saturday rose to ₹4 crore from 5,945 shows at 14 per cent. Sunday, October 18, added ₹4.40 crore from 5,546 shows at 17 per cent, a 10 per cent rise over Saturday by Sacnilk's own calculation.
That takes the three-day India net to ₹11.65 crore and the India gross to ₹13.88 crore, Sacnilk says. With ₹2 crore gross from overseas markets, its worldwide gross stands at ₹15.88 crore. The tracker also estimates about 5.38 lakh footfalls over the three days. India Today's comparison report, published on the morning of October 19, uses the same Sacnilk figures.
Where the trackers differ
The differences are small but worth noting. Koimoi reported a higher opening of ₹3.36 crore net from about 6,280 shows, and a two-day total of ₹7.36 crore net, ₹8.68 crore India gross and ₹10.18 crore worldwide. Pinkvilla, in a report published on October 19, rounds its numbers down: about ₹3 crore on Friday, ₹4 crore on Saturday and roughly ₹4 crore on Sunday, for an opening weekend of about ₹11 crore net.
Hindustan Times, writing on Sunday night with Sacnilk's early estimate, put Sunday at ₹4.30 crore and the weekend at ₹11.55 crore. Sacnilk later revised Sunday to ₹4.40 crore. NDTV India reported a higher three-day worldwide gross of ₹16.26 crore, with day-wise gross figures of ₹4.60 crore, ₹5.70 crore and ₹5.96 crore, but did not name a tracker for those numbers.
Put together, the opening weekend lands between about ₹11 crore and ₹11.65 crore net in India, and between about ₹15.9 crore and ₹16.3 crore gross worldwide, depending on whom you read.
Against Yami Gautam's own record
Koimoi says the ₹3.36 crore opening was 92 per cent higher than that of her previous theatrical release, Haq, which it lists at ₹1.75 crore. Even so, by Koimoi's list, the film missed her top ten openings, where Sanam Re sits tenth at ₹4.5 crore and Kaabil leads at ₹10.43 crore.
Hindustan Times makes the same point over three days. It reports that Haq earned ₹8.95 crore net in its first three days, so Nayyi Navelli is ahead. But Article 370 made ₹22.9 crore in its first three days, the paper says, and OMG 2, in which she played a key role, crossed ₹40 crore over its opening weekend.
The budget question
Koimoi estimates the budget at ₹35 crore and says the film had recovered about 21 per cent of that through India net after two days. NDTV India reports a budget said to be ₹30 crore to ₹35 crore. Neither figure has been confirmed by the producers. On Sacnilk's ₹11.65 crore weekend net, the film has covered roughly a third of Koimoi's estimate.
Koimoi had cautioned after Saturday that the 19 per cent rise it recorded fell short of the 40 to 50 per cent jump it expects for mid-budget family films, and that the result would depend heavily on Monday and Tuesday, which it described as an extended Dussehra holiday.
Competition and reviews
The film opened the same day as Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story, starring Rajkummar Rao. India Today reports, using Sacnilk data, that Prahaar ended its weekend at ₹9.15 crore net and ₹12.86 crore gross worldwide, so Nayyi Navelli led by about ₹2.5 crore in India net, although Prahaar grew faster on Sunday. Hindustan Times lists Jailer 2 and Ranabaali as further competition for the same audience.
Word of mouth is mixed, Pinkvilla says. Hindustan Times' review called it a film that "mistakes excess for entertainment and confusion for complexity", while noting that Yami Gautam tries to hold things together. Koimoi, by contrast, wrote of appreciation from family audiences.
Directed by Balaji Mohan in his Bollywood debut, and written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film is produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, Hindustan Times reports. Adinath Kothare co-stars, with Mita Vashisht and Sunita Rajwar in the cast, and GV Prakash Kumar composed the music, according to Pinkvilla.
What to watch on Monday
Sacnilk's live tracking for Monday, October 19, showed about ₹0.36 crore net from 1,757 shows by midday, taking its running India net to about ₹12.01 crore. Those numbers are provisional and will change before the day closes. The Monday and Tuesday holds will show whether the film can build on a modest but rising weekend, or whether it starts to lose shows to the next set of releases.
